Harvard Divinity School is pleased to announce that its third annual Diversity and Explorations Program will take place November 3-5, 2009. “DivEx” encourages applications from students whose backgrounds demonstrate a commitment to issues of diversity, social justice, and the fields of religion, theology or ministry. This three-day program also aims to expose participants to interdisciplinary opportunities in variety of professional, academic, and ministerial careers. Participants will be selected from a competitive application process, with some scholarships available for travel. All selected participants will be provided lodging for two nights and meals during the program.
The application deadline of September 18, 2009 is quickly approaching. Information about the program is available on our website at http://www.hds.harvard.edu/afa/visiting/events.html#diversity. Applications will be available in July at www.hds.harvard.edu/afa.
This year’s itinerary will include sessions especially designed for Diversity and Explorations participants as well as panels, presentations, and open classes offered during Theological Education Day on November 4, which will be hosted on campus to coincide with the second day of the DivEx program. The program will thus be enriched by further offerings and an opportunity to meet with a greater number of HDS community members including faculty and students.
