GREENSBORO, N.C. (Nov. 14) -- Hendrix College junior Drew Kellum led the men’s cross country team to an 11th place finish (316 points) in a field of 24 teams on Saturday afternoon at the 2009 NCAA South/Southwest Regional race, hosted by Guilford College at The Meadows Cross Country Course.

CONYERS, Ga. (Oct. 31) -- The Hendrix College men’s squad posted an identical finish to its 2008 with an 8th place mark at the 2009 SCAC Championships. This year’s championships was hosted by Oglethorpe University and held at the Georgia International Horse Park. The men’s team tallied 206 points and was just four digits shy of Sewanee-The University of the South (202) and 56 points ahead of host Oglethorpe.

SEARCY, Ark. (Oct. 10) -- The Hendrix College men’s cross country placed its first five runners in the top 30 to finish fourth, in front of Henderson State University, University of the Ozarks and University of Arkansas-Monticello at the Ted Lloyd Invitational, hosted by Harding University on Saturday. 

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Sept. 28) -- Hendrix College cross country had another quality weekend with the women placing fifth and the men taking home sixth at the Rhodes College Invitational on Saturday at the Shelby Farms Course. Warriors’ sophomore Lolly Plummer paced the women with a third-place finish overall and 19:46 time (6:23 pace). Junior Drew Kellum (pictured) led the men’s squad with a 27:48 and eighth place finish overall.

CONWAY, Ark. (Sept. 15) -- The Hendrix College Athletics Department was busy reviewing resumes and conducting interviews throughout the summer, so you may see a few new faces on the sidelines when attending contests this year.  The Warriors have welcomed six new coaches and an athletic trainer to the 2009-10 staff.

RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 12) -- The Hendrix College women’s cross country team placed all five runners in the top 20 to score a second-place team finish, in front of three NCAA D-I schools and another D-III school. The men’s squad placed their five runners in the top 30 and finished fourth overall.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Sept. 5) -- The Hendrix College women’s cross country team posted a 10th place finish for the top NCAA D-III spot and also beat in-state foe Arkansas Tech University (11th), cross-town foe University of Central Arkansas (13th) and SCAC foes Birmingham-Southern College (15th) and Millsaps College (23rd). The men’s squad (16th) also finished ahead of UCA (17th) and Millsaps College (25th).

Conway, Ark. (Jan. 29) -- The Hendrix College Athletic Department announced its Fall 2008 Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll list last week and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference posted its overall list of 776 student athletes on Tuesday. The Warriors contributed 45 athletes to the list, which eclipsed last year’s previous recod of 715 student-athletes.

SEGUIN, Texas -- Hendrix College first year Laura ‘Lolly’ Plummer ran for a fourth-place finish in the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Regional Cross Country Championships, while senior Laura Broederdorf crossed the line for 20th.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Hendrix College men’s and women’s cross country teams ran for a record setting day at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Rhodes College on Saturday. The women’s team posted their highest finish ever in the season finale at 4th place, while the men had their highest finish since 2002 at 7th.
