Orientation 2009
Eureka Springs 01.jpg

Thank you for visiting the Orientation website.  Orientation 2009 has passed and we will soon begin planning for Orientation 2010.  Until then, please take a look and see what an awesome program we had in 2009.  We promise that 2010 will be even better!

When, in the course of student events, it becomes necessary for one to dissolve the familial bonds which have connected them with their parents, and to assume among the powers of their peers, the place at Hendrix College which the laws of Orientation and Awesomeness have entitled them, a decent respect to the balance of said families’ checkbook requires that they should declare the causes which propel them towards Hendrix College.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that Hendrix College is the best in the land, that Hendrix Orientation outshines all other orientations, and that Orientation Coordinators, Kent Denton and Kate Cook, are, in a word, revolutionary. The government of Orientation is instituted among new students, deriving its power from the consent of YOU, the people of orientation.

Three-cornered HatThis year’s theme, "1776: The Revolutionary OR!," is all about you. You’re breaking away and making big decisions about how you want to live your life, much as the Founding Fathers did with the Declaration of Independence. We hope that you’ll embrace the changes that are coming your way, and prepare yourself for the whirlwind that is Orientation 2009!

Peace, Love, and Tri-Cornered Hats,
Kate and Kent
