Chemistry Department

Learn to think
Our research-rich curriculum is designed to help students become independent, thinking scientists. This is accomplished through experience with first-class instruments at even the introductory level, group projects and written assignments.  The experience culminates in research collaboration with faculty members in the final years.  Within this curricular framework, Hendrix is special because we help students "become themselves" by tailoring our academic program to their interests.

Green Chemistry
The Chemistry Department, because of the work of Drs. Goodwin and Gron in developing "green chemistry" labs, received two Pfizer-St. Louis Green Chemistry Research and Education Grants of $5,000 each.  Congratulations and thanks, Tom and Liz!
