Christy Coker

As Director of Career Services, Christy Coker serves as liaison for students for a closer connection with Hendrix alumni, professional and organizational communities, graduate and professional schools, and employers representing all walks of life. She believes self-exploration in many levels is necessary in order to reach the level of "being all that one can be" - beyond obtaining a degree and accepting a job.
Christy has taught undergraduate courses in small group communication, communication contexts, business and professional communication, advanced public speaking, public speaking, and has overseen an internship placement program for both graduates and undergraduates. She has been a faculty member with the University of North Carolina, Charlotte, the University of Arkansas, Petit Jean Technical College, and Arkansas Tech University. Prior to that, she worked for Arkansas Government doing welfare reform which focuses on job development and placement. She was a state delegate for the President's Summit for America's Future and America's Promise headed by General Colin Powell. As a former chief professional officer for a multi-county nonprofit, she serves as a consultant and advisor for nonprofit organizations, is a special event planner, and is a member of various local organizations. She is a graduate of the 2006 Faulkner County Leadership Institute.
Christy is a native of Conway and lives in Faulkner County with her daughter Jordan.

Rainey Gibson
Program Assistant

Rainey, a 2008 Hendrix graduate, joins the Career Services staff to assist with the programming of Career Services events. Her main roles will be organizing and coordinating campus visits for employers and graduate schools as well as planning events such as theEXPO, the annual graduate, professional and internship expo, and helping with Career Week in spring semester. She also assists students in building and updating resumes and application letters as well as various office duties.
Rainey is originally from Yellville, Arkansas and now lives in Faulkner County with her two puppies, Fischer and Sawyer.

Trista Grieder
Internship Coordinator

Trista joins the Career Services staff to help provide comprehensive experiential services to Hendrix students. Her main roles will be developing internship agreements with sponsor sites and serving as a liaison between those sites and Hendrix. Trista will also be working closely with the Odyssey office and the Hendrix-Lilly initiative.
Trista, her husband, and two daughters live in Faulkner County. She is a native of Ohio.
