Employee Contact Tracing and Testing

 Guidance for Employees and Supervisors: 

Employees who were exposed to someone with COVID-19:

IF FULLY Vaccinated and Up-to-Date (received all recommended COVID-19 vaccines, including any booster dose(s) when eligible)

1. No quarantine unless you develop symptoms. If symptoms develop, stay home and follow the guidance below for Employees with Signs or Symptoms.
   
2. Avoid being around people who are at high risk for severe illness.
3. Wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days following exposure.
4. Test at least 5 days following exposure, if possible.

IF Unvaccinated or Fully Vaccinated but NOT Up-to-Date:

1. Email aboutcovid19@hendrix.edu to notify the Hendrix Contact Tracing Team.
2. Stay home and quarantine for 5 days following exposure.
3. Notify your supervisor that you will be absent. 
4. Test at least 5 days following exposure. If symptoms develop, test immediately.
5. Until Day 10 following exposure, take the following precautions:

• Wear a well-fitting mask around others.
• Avoid being around people who are at high risk for severe illness.
• Monitor your health closely, and if you develop symptoms, stay home and follow the guidance below for Employees with Signs or Symptoms.

IF you had a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the last 90 days:

1. No quarantine unless you develop symptoms. If symptoms develop, stay home and follow the guidance for Employees with Signs or Symptoms.
2. Avoid being around people who are at high risk for severe illness.
3. Wear a well-fitting mask around others for 10 days following exposure.

*Calculating Quarantine – The date of exposure is considered day 0. Day 1 is the first full day after exposure.

Employees who have signs or symptoms of COVID-19 

1. Stay home and get tested.
2. You may contact a test provider such as the Hendrix Medical Clinic (Schedule Appointment) about testing or use a self-test.
3. Notify your supervisor that you will be absent. 
4. If TESTING IS PERFORMED, you should stay home until you know the result. If the result may take several days, email aboutcovid19@hendrix.edu to notify the Hendrix Contact Tracing Team.

Employees who test positive for COVID-19 

1. Notify the Hendrix Contact Tracing Team by emailing aboutcovid19@hendrix.edu.
2. Stay home for 5 days and isolate fully away from others.
3. Notify your supervisor that you will be absent. 
4. Notify any close contacts about exposure.
5. End isolation after 5 days IF:
6. Until Day 10, take the following precautions:

• Wear a well-fitting mask around others.
• Avoid being around people who are at high risk for severe illness.

*Calculating Isolation – Day 0 is the first day of symptoms or if no symptoms, the day the test was collected. Day 1 is the first full day after symptoms developed or if no symptoms, the day the test was collected.
